American Association of Dental Research

The American Association for Dental Research (AADR), headquartered in Alexandria, Va., is a non-profit organization with more than 4,000 members in the United States. Its mission is: (1) to advance research and increase knowledge for the improvement of oral health worldwide; (2) to support and represent the oral health research community; and (3) to facilitate the communication and application of research findings. The AADR is the largest division of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).

American Board of Orthodontics
The American Board of Orthodontics was founded in 1929 and is the oldest specialty board in dentistry. It was first established by Dr. Albert Ketcham and several colleagues who believed that the specialty of orthodontics should have a certifying body. The original objectives of the ABO were stated in the charter of incorporation “to elevate the standards of the practice of orthodontia; to familiarize the public with its aims and ideals; to protect the public against irresponsible and unqualified practitioners.”

American Dental Education Association
ADEA is the premier association serving the predoctoral, postdoctoral, and allied dental education community. ADEA provides advocacy, professional development, and a wealth of expert information and resources. The association addresses contemporary issues influencing education, research, and the delivery of oral health care for the improvement of public health.

International Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Dentistry
The International Academy for Advanced Interdisciplinary Dentistry (iAAID) is a group of international dentists from several countries who have studied together for several years and have multiple degrees and certificates, including Master’s Degrees from Donau University in Krems, Austria. They formed the iAAID academy to bring together all the professionals who have studied with Dr. Rudolf Slavicek and other academic experts, professors and teachers, who treat their patients with the most advanced science available. Their stated goal is to “bring together all professionals wishing to continue and expand this level of expertise, providing a forum and journal to promote knowledge and excellence based on science. This will include all professions and trades involved in the treatment of patients. By providing a venue for professional communication and honest discussion, patient treatment is advanced and improved at a much faster pace.”

Nevada Dental Association
The Nevada Dental Association provides its members services that promote the highest standards of care for the public and inspires members in the pursuit of professional excellence and personal fulfillment through education, leadership and communication. The Association preserves the integrity of the dental profession, strengthens the doctor/patient relationship and promotes the Principles of Ethics and Code of Professional Conduct of the the American Dental Association.

Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners
The Nevada State Board of Dental Examiners (NSBDE) was created by the legislature and charged with the authority to examine for licensure, issue licenses to successful candidates, renew licenses and maintain current information, and regulate the practice of dentistry and dental hygiene in the state. The legal authority for the State Board of Dental Examiners is Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 631 with current rules and regulations of the Board under Nevada Administrative Code Chapter 631.

The Mission of the NSBDE is to protect the dental health interests of the citizens of Nevada by developing and maintaining programs to ensure that only qualified professionals are licensed to practice dentistry and dental hygiene, and ensure that violators of the laws and regulations regulating the dental and dental hygiene professions are sanctioned as appropriate.
